Support in recruiting medical practices for a scientific study

SCICOM developed an information campaign for the German Coalition for Patient Safety (APS) to support the recruitment of 200 medical practices to participate in a study on the implementation of critical incident reporting systems (CIRS).

Treatment errors and adverse events in patient care are complex issues and the communication with physicians requires a fine touch here. Hence, SCICOM’s campaign emphasised the added value for the target group, including the extensive and personal support during the study, regulatory compliance and improved patient safety. The campaign elements—for example websites with high conversion rates and printed documents—impress by an attractive imagery, clear messages and a stringent communication of the added value. 
The development—from the briefing to the website’s launch—took no more than five weeks: APS was delighted with the quick and at the same time convincing implementation.

Organisation of scientific events for the trade press

There are numerous ways to communicate scientific contents. When these contents are the research results of a company’s own R&D, a press conference of a special kind is a solution: hence, SCICOM regularly organises lunchtime symposia for the trade press for our long-standing customer, the BODE SCIENCE CENTER. The comprehensive service goes much further than the creation of the invitations and the press kit: SCICOM’s event experts develop the content-based concept, recommend appropriate speakers and supervise the event with lasting success:
The last lunchtime symposium on “Digital infection control—enhancing patient protection by eHealth” in Berlin attracted 27 journalists working for the relevant target media as well as representatives from politics and health care who wanted to listen to the renowned spokespeople from research and practice. Right at the heart: the key messages of our client—profitably embedded in a harmonised series of lectures.

Since its inception, the event has enjoyed an excellent reputation among the specialist editors, who attach great importance to scientifically sound contents with a focus on the added value and appreciate a professional event organisation.

Accompanying public relations for a national campaign

The German “Aktion Saubere Hände” (Clean Hands Campaign; ASH)—a national campaign to improve the hand disinfection compliance in German healthcare facilities—last year for the first time conducted a national road show together with our customer, PAUL HARTMANN AG: the ASH van stopped at 32 German clinics in the name of hand hygiene. Our accompanying press relations work was not only about positioning HARTMANN as co-operation partner in the medical press: to intensively involve and support the participating clinics, SCICOM developed a press package for local media that was specifically tailored to their needs. In addition to high-content articles, including interviews, infographics, templates for press releases and visuals, SCICOM’S PR experts also personally supported the communications departments—and thus offered a consistent full-service package on behalf of the client.

Successful corporate publishing: twenty years of DESINFACTS

From the customer magazine to an established brand: for more than twenty years, SCICOM has been managing and editing the magazine DESINFACTS for BODE Chemie GmbH. Infection control practitioners, hygienists and caregivers appreciate the magazine that is published three times a year, as it comes with varied and well-founded articles having a close link to daily routine and offering a high added value for the target groups: specific information on trends, products and services as well as on internal and external research findings—written knowledgeably and with a keen sense for the reader. Currently, the printed edition has 6,600 subscribers. Additionally, an english version, the DISINFACTS, is available online for our client's international audience since 2013.

This publication helps our client to position itself as expert: with high credibility and, not least, thanks to the clear focus on the target group’s needs. Because only contents that offer a real added value can convince a demanding expert audience.
